Louisiana Real Estate License Requirements
- Age: at least 18 years old
- Education: a high school diploma or GED
- Experience: active real estate salesperson for at least 2 years
- Trainings: complete 150 approved classroom hours of real estate trainings
- Training specifications: 30 hours of the course needs to cover Louisiana real estate law, and 30 hours must cover Broker Responsibilities
- Exam: the next step is to pass the broker real estate exam
- Insurance: provide Errors & Omissions Insurance before you apply for the license.

Real Estate Broker Licensure Exam in Louisiana
There are 2 parts of the Louisiana Real Estate Salesperson Exam: national and state specific. National part has more questions and is more complex than state specific part. There are 80 questions in the national part and 55 questions in the state specific part. You have to answer 56 questions correctly to pass the national part of the exam and then you are allowed to take the other part. And then you have to answer 40 questions to pass the state specific part. You are given 105 minutes to complete the national exam and 75 minutes to complete the state specific part.
If you successfully pass the first part of the exam, you can take the other part during a 90 day period.
You will see your results right after you finish it, as the exam is taken on a computer. Don’t bring any books to the testing room. Arrive 30 minutes before the exam starts. Don’t forget about 2 forms of ID and a calculator to take with you.
You will need to pay $75 of registration fee to take the Louisiana Real Estate Salesperson Exam. The retake fee is also $75 whether you take one or both parts of the exam.
