Maryland Real Estate License Requirements:

  • Age: 18 years old
  • Courses: complete a real estate course: 3 hours of real estate ethics
  • Experience: 3 years of active salesperson experience
  • Reputation: you have to be a responsible person with a good reputation
  • Exam: successfully pass the real estate examination

Real Estate Broker Licensure Exam in Maryland

There are 2 parts of the Maryland Real Estate Salesperson Exam: national and state specific. National part has more questions and is more complex than state specific part. There will be such number of questions in each part of the exam. See below.
National part: 80 questions (answer 56 questions correctly to pass this part)
State specific part: 30 questions (answer 21 question correctly to pass this part)
Time limit: 90 minutes for the national part and 30 minutes for state specific part
If you successfully pass the first part of the exam, you can take the other part during a 12 months period.
You will see your results right after you finish it, as the exam is taken on a computer. Don’t bring any books to the testing room. Arrive 30 minutes before the exam starts. Don’t forget about 2 forms of ID and a calculator to take with you.
You will need to pay $70 of registration fee to take the Maryland Real Estate Salesperson Exam. The retake fee is $70 as well.
